For a small local business, a straightforward site is usually a few hundred pounds rather than a few thousand. Here the fixed prices are £295 for a one-page Launch site, £595 for a Starter site of up to three pages, and £895 for a Done For You build of up to five pages with the writing handled for you. Bigger multi-page builds start at £1,500. Agencies charge considerably more for the same size of job, largely because of account managers and overheads you do not benefit from.
Mostly it is what is bundled in and who is doing it. A quote that looks cheap often excludes the writing, which is the part most people underestimate, or comes with hosting locked in at a high monthly rate. A quote that looks expensive is often an agency with staff to pay. The useful question is not the headline number but what happens in year two: who owns the site, what hosting costs, and what a change costs.
If it works and looks reasonable but nobody finds it, you almost certainly do not need a new one. That is a visibility problem and a rebuild is an expensive way to fix it. If it has specific faults, a broken contact form, terrible on phones, painfully slow, those are usually fixable individually. A rebuild makes sense when the site is genuinely dated, the structure is wrong for what you now do, or fixing it piecemeal would cost more than starting again. The first year of hosting is included in every build here. After that it is £18 a month on a Launch or Starter site and £28 on a Done For You site. There is no lock-in contract: it is a monthly cost for hosting and the domain, not a subscription for the site itself, and the site is yours. A Care Plan from £49 a month is optional and adds updates, backups and small changes.
Yes. A Starter build can be paid at £55 a month for twelve months instead of £595 up front, and a Done For You build at £82 a month instead of £895. That is the same price spread over a year rather than a finance product with interest. After the twelve payments the build is paid off and you are on to ordinary hosting.
On a Done For You build, yes, that is the main thing that separates it from a Starter build. On a Launch or Starter site you supply the text and I lay it out properly. Most people underestimate this: writing about your own business is genuinely hard, and unfinished text is the most common reason a website sits half-built for months.
