Yes. I help individuals and families across Bolton with everyday tech: slow computers, new laptop setup, printers, email problems and smart home devices. It is the same service whether it is a household or a small business, and nothing gets explained down to you.
Can you sort out Wi-Fi problems and dead spots in the house?
Yes. That means diagnosing weak or dropping Wi-Fi properly, repositioning or replacing routers and access points, and setting up mesh or extender systems so the coverage reaches the whole house, including loft conversions and garden offices. There is a full page on Wi-Fi setup and home networking.
Do you set up new computers and transfer files from an old one?
Yes. New laptops and PCs set up, files, photos and emails moved across, the software you use installed, and everything backed up before the old machine is retired. You get it ready to use rather than ready to configure.
Do you offer ongoing support, or is it one-off jobs?
Both. Some people call when something breaks, others prefer ongoing support so they have got someone to ring whenever the technology plays up. There is no lock-in either way.
Do you come to me, or do I bring my computer to you?
Both work. Many problems can be fixed the same day remotely over a secure connection, with you watching what I do, and that is usually the quickest option. Where it is hardware, Wi-Fi or a setup job that needs hands on it, I come to you at home or at your business across Bolton and nearby. Some jobs are easier if I take the computer away and bring it back once it is sorted.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the job, but I will always tell you the cost before I start, so there are no surprises. Many everyday fixes are quick and affordable, and if something is not worth doing, I will say so.
Do you charge for diagnostics?
In most cases, diagnostics are free. I will take a look, explain what is going on, and let you know your options before any work is done.
Do I need to know anything technical?
Not at all. If something feels confusing or is not working as it should, that is enough. I will handle the technical side and explain things clearly, in plain English.
How quickly can you help?
Often the same day or the next day. Being local and a one-person business means I can usually get to you quickly. Call or message and I will let you know.
Do you do virus removal?
Yes. I remove viruses, malware and fake pop-ups from laptops and PCs in Bolton, and make sure they do not come straight back. If a scam message or rogue program has locked things up, do not pay anything; get in touch first and we will sort it safely.
