Horwich has an odd split. At the bottom of the hill sits Middlebrook, one of the biggest retail parks in the region, with the Bolton Wanderers stadium and every national chain you can name. There is also more of Horwich every year. The old Loco Works land is being built out with new housing, and people who have just moved somewhere find everything, from a plumber to a dog groomer, by searching.
